Retirement Planning
Whether you are in retirement, near retirement, just beginning a career, or somewhere in between, it is important to have a plan. Without a retirement plan you cannot maximize your potential in the retirement years.
Retirement planning is more than just about money. Retirement planning is lifestyle planning.
The picture of retirement is changing dramatically. Thirty years ago we used to think about retirement as stopping work and spending the days on a golf course, traveling and enjoying the easy chair. Today with more active lifestyles, retirement has taken on a whole new meaning. People are not retiring “from” something - they want to retire “to” something.
Today’s retirees are “retiring” earlier in life, could possible spend more time in their retirement years than they did in the workforce, and are looking to make a contribution to society with this portion of their lifecycle. Many are doing the volunteer activities that are so necessary is today’s society. Many are returning to the workforce on a casual basis because they want to do something other than what they did for a “living”. They are able to do this while still having time to enjoy “the good life”.
It is important to plan for your retirement needs. You may not need a million dollars to retire well – but you should plan to be responsible and have the financial freedom to choose what to do with these years.
